Science outreach with the Girl Scouts

meeting

A local troop of the Girl Scouts of the USA spent some of their Saturday afternoon with the Chiappinelli Lab. These young scientists learned about cancer, DNA, and research.

Then, we had an interactive lab in which we extracted DNA from strawberries (yes, STRAWBERRIES!). The Scouts had great questions and knew a lot already. Great job, Girl Scouts!
