Move4Her Campaign

Med Students, James Castro Argueta and Noor Diab, fundraising for the Foundation for Women’s Cancer’s (FWC) Move4Her campaign

In 2018, the American Cancer Society estimated that nearly 109,000 women would be diagnosed with some form of gynecologic cancer, and 33,000 would die from the disease. That could be a mother, friend, or sister fighting for her life. You could help make a difference today!

Medical Students, James Castro Argueta and Noor Diab, in collaboration with the GW Chapter of the ASCO Oncology Student Interest Group, are fundraising for the Foundation for Women’s Cancer’s (FWC) Move4Her campaign throughout September. FWC is dedicated to increasing public awareness of gynecologic cancer risk awareness, prevention, early detection, and optimal treatment. We are committed to reaching our goal of ($1500.00). Please join us as we end women’s cancer and help provide mammograms and support services for women in need. Together we can end women’s cancer and help save lives! Please visit our fundraising page to learn more and donate today! Any amount helps. (https://move4her.raisely.com/t/gwoncologysig).

This September, you can also support the effort by committing to 5 minutes of any movement each day of the month and tracking your progress via the printed or digital calendar. It provides an opportunity to emphasize the fact that every 5 minutes, a woman is diagnosed with 1 of the 5 gyn cancers – cervical, ovarian, uterine/endometrial, vaginal, or vulvar. We encourage you to share your progress and your story about why you’re moving on social media using the hashtag #Move4Her.
